Open STEP files and actually work with them
MECHCAD 2026 imports STEP, IGES and STL as parts or assemblies with their structure kept. Simple parts that pass validation become editable features.
How to do it
- 01
Download and install MECHCAD 2026, then press Start 30-day Premium trial on the Welcome screen.

File › Open… or Import CAD / STEP Assembly… and select the file.

Assemble, detail, build a BOM or create toolpaths straight away.

Parametric import creates features when the source data allows it.
