SAVEPROJECT - Save Multiple Tabs as a Project (.mprj)

Save all open drawing tabs as one Project (.mprj) file so you can reopen the whole set at once.

What it does

SAVEPROJECT stores the list of every saved drawing tab in a .mprj file. When you open a .mprj with OPEN, all the sheets open at once as tabs. Wiring Wizard also creates a .mprj automatically.

Where to find it

  • Ribbon: Output › File › Save Project
  • Command line: SAVEPROJECT (Alias SP, PROJ)

Output tab, File group with Save Project
Output tab, File group with Save Project

Steps

  1. Save every tab as DWG/DXF first (unsaved Untitled tabs are skipped).
  2. Type SP and press Enter. Name the .mprj file (the default is the folder name).
  3. To open it later, press Ctrl+O and select the .mprj file.

Note: Keep all the drawing files in the same folder as the .mprj. If any file is in another folder, the program warns you. If there are no saved tabs at all, it shows No saved drawings open - save each tab as DWG first.

Try it: A three-sheet bakery fit-out set

Scenario: a bakery fit-out has 3 sheets: the floor plan, the counter elevation and the shop sign. Every morning you need all 3 tabs open.

  1. Save all 3 tabs as DWG in the same folder, for example D:\Bakery\floor-plan.dwg, counter-elevation.dwg and shop-sign.dwg.
  2. Type SP, press Enter and name the file bakery-fitout.mprj in that folder.
  3. Close the program. Tomorrow, press Ctrl+O and choose bakery-fitout.mprj. All 3 sheets open as tabs at once.
  4. An unsaved Untitled tab is not included in the project. Save it first, then run SP again.
